Dairy Cows
are judged on the physical traits that show how long
the cow will live a healthy life and produce milk. The
rump, feet, legs and udder are the most important traits
and this is why the
cows are viewed from the rear during judging. Most exhibitors
use a showstick in the show ring.
This does not harm the animal. It is used to place the
animals feet and stroke the
animal to keep it content.
