Hemlock's
Little World Fair has a proud tradition of harness racing.
This is our 107th
year of racing on Water Street. The races
are for 2 & 3-year-old New York bred trotters and
pacers.
For
those not familiar with harness racing, NY bred are
horses bred in New York State to a registered stallion.
There will be 10 - 12 races. The purse money for these
races come from the owners of these horses and NY Harness
Horse Breeders Fund which draws their funds from
pari-mutual wagering throughout New York State.
The
purse money for the day's races will be over $12,000.
Many locally owned horses, as well as, horses and top
drivers from Buffalo, Batavia and Vernon Downs will
be competing this year.
